Rockford Park District offers programs

BLACK FRIDAY PUBLIC SKATING SESSION NOVEMBER 24, 2017 — Back by popular demand! Enjoy some fun and healthy exercise with family or friends at a special four-hour Black Friday Skate indoor ice skating session, Friday, November 24, 2017, 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. at Rockford Park District’s Carlson Ice Arena, 4150 N. Perryville Rd., Loves Park. Admission including skate rental is just $5 per person; meal deals will also be available. This event is one of many family friendly low-fee activities offered by the Rockford Park District. OPEN HOCKEY SESSIONS FOR YOUTH AND ADULTS — Rockford Park District’s two indoor ice facilities offer drop-in open hockey sessions for both youth and adults, where players can have fun on the ice and gain the benefits of being active while practicing and improving their skills.

Youth Open Hockey sessions for ages 5-17 are held at Riverview Ice House, 324 N. Madison St., Rockford, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 4:00 until 4:50 p.m., for $5 ($6 non-resident) per session. Only players 5-17 are allowed on the ice for these sessions (no parents or coaches).

Adult Open Hockey sessions for adults ages 18 and older are held Monday evenings at Riverview Ice House in Rockford, as well as Friday and Saturday mornings at Carlson Ice Arena in Loves Park. Times and session lengths vary; fees vary according to times and residency, and range from $7 to $9 per session.
